Hi I'm John Berger, Keyboard Player for the BluMillion Band.
I've been with BluMillion for 3 1/2 years now
My interest in music started when I was in 2nd grade. The school gave a musical aptitude test to everyone, trying to recruit people for the High School Band. I qualified for free music lessons, and chose to take up drums. I played drums in the High School Band, and also for a marcing corp for a local dance studio that had a Majorette training unit. (I just did it to meet chicks.) By the time I was 17, I had marched in all 3 of the Thanksgiving Day parades you see on TV. It's not as glorious as it looks. It was really Cold !!!
One year, for Christmas, my parents bought my sister and me one of those little plastic toy organs that had a vacuum cleaner motor blowing air over reeds inside when you pressed the keys.
I must have done OK with it. A few years later they bought me a real 2 manual organ with pedals and everything, and 13 organ lessons.
Jump ahead several years... I moved to Cincinnati and bought the 2nd biggest home organ Hammond made, which is still in my living room today. It came with a 4 year loan and cost more than the car I was driving. I proceeded to play in my living room for the next 40 years. Oh yeah, I got married to my wife, Sherry, too. We've been together for 37 years now.
At the same time, I got into several other expensive hobbies, motorcycles, skydiving, snow skiing, water skiing, and scuba diving. Amazingly I'm still alive.
About 2020 my neighbors invited me to jam in the basement with their family band. We got pretty good and played 2 gigs at a campground on the Ohio River. That band soon fell apart, but I had the itch to get back on stage. 2 years and 3 startup bands later, I met Mark O'Keefe, BluMillion lead guitar picker. He invited me to come and try out with BluMillion.
The rest is history. I've been with BluMillion for 3 seasons now. We're making great music and having a bunch of fun. If we're not picking on eachother something's wrong.
